Learning Series: Business Process Modeling Using BPMN 2.0 (IIBA-Member-Only Event)
Graphical representations like process models are gaining popularity when it comes to describing current and future state systems. Such models facilitate communication between stakeholders, help analysts to understand business domains, and provide input for solution designs and system documentation. Process models are valuable sources of information for requirements elicitation; process models are not only used to understand the environment but are increasingly becoming an essential part of the requirements specification process.
During this presentation, Lori will introduce the core concepts of process modeling with BPMN 2.0 and show how to process model at the Descriptive Level. Attendees will gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts such as pools and lanes, tasks, sub processes, sequence flow, and conditional flows. Attendees will see how they can use pools and message flows for explicitly modeling collaborations between participants, and how to harvest important requirements like Business Rules from your process models.
